Home Improvement

It is surprising to me how many repairs we have to do, despite our house only being 8 years old.  Many, as shown in this picture, are caused by hard water.  One weekend we replaced this faucet (which was cracking in multiple places), two shower cartridges (one of which we realized after didn't actually need to be replaced), and repaired our dishwasher.

I'm not sure how we repaired the dishwasher.  I insisted we pull it out and see if we could find a problem before buying a new one.  We didn't find a problem, but by the time we got it all put back together, it was working.

Shower cartridges in general proved to be a pain in the neck, but especially the one that had a stripped screw, which we found out had also been glued in.  Who glues in a screw?!?  One new tool later, and the stripped screw was removed.

Now if we could just figure out why our exterior lights stopped working...
