Being Primary Chorister is the best! I get to come up with fun games and sing fun songs every week. Another perk is being popular with the kids at church. I was Primary President for over three years before becoming Chorister, and they know me much better now.
Here are a few of my favorite comments recently:
3 year old while when I gave him a handout at the fire station tour: "You're the one that teaches us the songs!"
6 year old playing at my house: "I actually like the games you plan for us. I do!"
3 year old when I showed up at his house to pick him up for a play date: "You're my teacher! (to his mom) I didn't know she'd look like that!" I think he meant that he didn't expect me to be the one picking him up. Either that, or because I wasn't dressed up, but he did recognize my shirt.
On a somewhat related note, I don't know if I recorded this before, but I want to remember it. Several months ago I got an email from one of my Laveen 4th graders. He had found a book I gave him at the end of the year with a note and my email address in the front. He wanted to see if he could get in touch with his "favorite teacher" and was really excited that I emailed him right back. The day before that I re-introduced myself to a teenager who had just moved into our ward. He was one of my 4th graders also. He said, "Mrs. Abegg? I didn't know you were a member! You were my favorite teacher!" And gave me a hug. Fun times.

February
Reading while the boys play. SO nice.
What a cutie!
Benton loves "no stress chest".
Talking on his remote.
We did a preschool unit on fairy tales and went to see a play based on three fairy tales at the Phoenix Children's Theatre.
Lunch outside after the play.
These two love learning and are so dedicated! They are doing math facts pages here. I separated them so they would work independently.
Mountain Monday!
The kitchen was clean just a minute ago.
Mike and Ethan tried to take a trip to Provo to see Jil. Unfortunately, it was so foggy there that the flight kept getting delayed all day. Once, they boarded the plane, sat, and then got off. Another time, they flew to Provo, circled the airport until they didn't have enough fuel to circle anymore, and then came back to AZ.
I had to have someone come sit with the sleeping little guys so I could go get Ethan and Mike from the airport. Ethan was "not tired" but crashed immediately.
The next day they tried again and I hosted a Valentine's Day cookie party. The flight eventually got cancelled.
I was supposed to have a babysitter and go to the temple that night, so Mike stayed with the boys.
It is election season.
Family hike. Mike was as happy to be there as he looks.
More from Mignonne's visit. February had a lot of days in the 80s. It seemed really warm after the winter months and poor Asher's eczema has really been flaring up since then.
We had the boys get swim suits on. Ethan put on these 2T swim trunks.
Community Helper preschool! I taught about fireman and police officers. Here the kids are finding fire related words as I call them out and rinsing them off the driveway.
Cutie watching cartoons while Mike gets ready for work.
So mad because he wants to get out, but he also wants to have his buckle clasped.
We are in a banana stage.
Silliness.
Last playdate before Bryson moved away: sad!
More running scenery.
There was a really cool Rescue Round up out west.
There were fire trucks, of course.
Ladder truck, spray hose...
We got to watch the firemen take this car apart with the jaws of life, chainsaws, etc.
See Benton in the back?
I've started getting Asher his own cone at Scooptacular. When we parked, he got so excited and started signing ice cream and please. He was not patient about getting to pick his ice cream.
On February 29th, we spent Leap Year at Pump it Up.
Asher was very proud of himself when he learned how to crawl out of his bed. Fortunately, Lauren had given me the idea of putting the mattress on the floor, but inside the crib, and now
Asher is stuck in his crib again.
